Call for Nominations: Nutrien Wonderhub Board of Directors and Community Members

Children’s Discovery Museum on the Saskatchewan Inc. (o/a Nutrien Wonderhub) is Saskatchewan’s only children’s museum. We bring children and families together to create, learn, and play. Wonderhub’s hands-on exhibits and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) programming naturally encourage children and families to explore, build connections, and create lasting memories. Through play, children not only have fun but also develop essential skills and knowledge that will serve them throughout their lives. With over 100,000 visits annually, Wonderhub is inspiring the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and thinkers.

Wonderhub is a non-profit organization and registered charity governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and led by the Chief Executive Officer. We are supported by individual donors, corporate sponsors, granting agencies, municipal funding, and self-generated revenue. Wonderhub is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on Treaty 6 Territory and the traditional homeland of the Métis Nation.

The Wonderhub Board of Directors is pleased to call for applications to the Board of Directors and Board Committees, with volunteer terms commencing in January 2027.

The Director position is a volunteer role on the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors, on behalf of all residents of Saskatchewan and visitors to our province, provides leadership, strategic direction, policy development, and oversight using a policy governance model.

The Community Member position is a volunteer role that serves on one of four Board Committees: Governance and Nominations Committee, Financial Advisory and Risk Management Committee, Donor and Stakeholder Engagement Committee, and Human Resources Committee. Often, but not always, volunteers will initially serve the organization as a Community Member.

Serving as a Board Director or Community Member is a rewarding volunteer opportunity with important legal and fiduciary duties that require a commitment of time, skill, and resources. Applicants should have demonstrated leadership and excellence in their own field of expertise and be enthusiastic about volunteering their support to Nutrien Wonderhub. The Governance and Nominations Committee is seeking individuals with priority given to the following areas of influence, skills, and expertise:

  • Fund Development and Philanthropy
  • Childhood Development and Early Childhood / Elementary Education
  • Government Relations
  • Strategic-minded individuals with the ability to think big picture and long-term
  • Ability to contribute their time and energy through active participation on the Board of Directors and/or Board Committees

While these areas have been identified as priorities, we encourage all who are interested in serving to apply.

Nutrien Wonderhub is working to build a Board that reflects the community we serve. We welcome applications from all interested individuals and particularly encourage applications from Indigenous peoples, Black and racialized people, newcomers to Canada, persons with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQI+ people.

Board and Committee Meetings

Board Directors are expected to prepare for, attend, and actively participate in four Board meetings per year in addition to four Committee meetings for the Board Committee they serve on. Community Members are expected to prepare for, attend, and actively participate in four Committee meetings per year. Some work outside of Board and Committee meetings can be expected from time to time.

To apply, please complete the online Application Form here and submit your resume (please note a cover letter is not required) by email to [email protected].

The Application Form takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. Applications close at 11:59 PM CST on Friday, October 9, 2026. Applications received after this time will not be considered.
