Story Time with Tanzy! 📖

Join Tanzy, one of our practicum students from the U of S College of Education, for Story Time in the Gathering Place! They will be reading Byron Through the Seasons: A Dene-English Story Book, followed by an activity. 

This special storytime features a young boy named Byron as he navigates the seasonal changes in a northern Saskatchewan community. Through Byron’s experiences, we will explore the unique activities, traditions, and connections with the natural world that each season brings. The story, vividly described and illustrated by the children of La Loche, will also offer insights into the local Dene culture, values, and the beauty of life in the North. Following the story, children will have the chance to learn Dene phrases from Dene speaker and storyteller Tanzy Janvier.
