Explore the invisible wonders of the air around us. Did you know air is very powerful? Join us for experiments that demonstrate the power of wind, flight, and more. Come experience how much fun science can be when you’re defying gravity and making things fly!

Activity: Explore our hurricane machine and the A-Mazing Airways exhibit with us to see what can fly! We will also be making balloon powered vehicles and other objects that can fly with air.

Creative Science is led by our Education Facilitator and resident dino-expert, Riley! Each week, families will explore a new science concept in a fun, engaging, and hands on way. Kids will dive in and explore the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Through exciting projects and experiments, children develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while having fun with interactive learning. Each session sparks creativity and curiosity in young minds! Creative Science is best suited for ages six to ten.

Topic: Rocks and Fossils

Location: Create Space downstairs.

Have you visited our new Floor is Lava exhibit? Did you know igneous rocks form from cooled lava?! Come join our Education Facilitators to learn more about different rocks, minerals and fossils.

Theme: Volcanoes
Join us to learn all about Volcanoes and then have a play in Floor is Lava in our “Spotlight” exhibit! In this program, we’ll use the paper mache volcanoes we created last week to create our own eruptions! Didn’t attend last week’s program? No problem! Come and join us for the fun and learning. We’ll have lots of extra supplies available.

This program is designed for ages six to ten.

Join us to learn all about Volcanoes and then have a play in Floor is Lava in our “Spotlight” exhibit! In this program, we’ll learn some of the science behind volcanoes, and use paper mâché to create our own Volcanoes to erupt! Let them dry and come back next week on January 24 to help us create a volcanic eruption!
