Our Virtual School Discovery Visits offer educators and students a fun and unique experience!
The sessions are led by a live facilitator from our talented Program Team and includes STEAM focused activities that are inspired by Wonderhub’s exhibits. Each program is $75.00 for a one hour virtual session. The sessions are designed to accommodate both virtual classrooms and in-class set ups.

Colourful Construction
This STEAM-based program encourages students to explore how science, technology, engineering, art and math all play a role in designing and building beautiful and strong structures. Students will learn about the Cosmic Commotion exhibit in Wonderhub, and how it is a perfect example of when STEAM mashes together to create something functional and beautiful.
This program has been adapted to engage students in the following grades:
Pre-K -Grade 2 – Focusing on shapes, colours, and open-ended materials to create and build something that uses basic building prompts and then encouraging students to turn their basic design into an art piece by adding artistic embellishments.
Grade 3-Grade 5 – Focusing on engineering with simple machines, and afterwards, incorporating artistic elements to create something that is both beautiful and functional.
This program has the following curriculum connections:
- Investigate observable characteristics of objects and materials in their environment.
- Create art works using a variety of visual art methods, concepts, forms, and media.
- Create visual art works that express ideas about the world and natural, constructed, and imagined environments.
Into the Woods
This creative program encourages students to take a closer look at how some animals have adapted over thousands of years in order to survive here in Saskatchewan. They will learn about the incredible habitats in Saskatchewan, create their own imaginary creature with many adaptations and describe how that animal will live and thrive in our beautiful province!
This creative storytelling program encourages students to explore the beauty of Saskatchewan’s natural world, including the plants and animals.
This program has been adapted to engage students in the following grades:
Pre-K -Grade 2 – Focusing on learning about a selection of Saskatchewan animals and some of their unique traits that they have to live in Saskatchewan. Students will be able to design and create their own mythical Saskatchewan creature.
Grade 3-Grade 5 – Focusing on learning about animal adaptations in Saskatchewan and the meaning of the term “cryptozoology”. Students will be guided to create their own Saskatchewan cryptid story.
This program has the following curriculum connections:
- Create visual art works that express ideas about the world and natural, constructed, and imagined environments.
- Comprehend, retell, and respond to basic ideas in stories texts read to them.
- Compose and create using various visual, multimedia, oral, and written texts that explore and present thoughts, ideas, and experiences.
- Examine and differentiate observable characteristics of plants, animals, and people in their local environment.
My child was completely engaged the whole time and didn’t ask to stop or go do something else. He really enjoyed himself and was “glowing“ afterwards!

How do I apply for a Virtual School Discovery Visit for the 2023/2024 School Year?
For the 2023/2024 School Year, you are welcome to request a booking starting on August 25, 2023. Select the REQUEST A VISIT button, complete the form, and a staff member will be in touch with you regarding your booking request.

Does the Program provide materials?
Wonderhub will provide a suggested list of open-ended materials that are more commonly found in classrooms and homes. Teachers/parents will need to gather their own materials for students but programs are designed to allow for a variety of materials to be used in order to accomplish the program goal.
What is technology is required for students to participate in this program?
For students who are attending in-person classes, the teacher will be required to have access to a computer that can connect to Zoom. The teacher will need to have a way to display their screen on a large screen or Smartboard in order for all students to be able to see the Program Facilitator. A sound system hooked into the computer that provides adequate sound for all students to hear is also strongly suggested. The teacher is welcome to use a camera in order to the Program Facilitator to see the students, or they can speak on behalf of students if they have questions or want to share.
For students who are attending virtual classes, the teacher will get an access link for their Zoom session. They will be able to share with their students along with the list of materials that can be used to take part in the program so that the parents have time to gather materials.
Are we able to experience a Virtual Discovery Visit without the suggested materials?
Yes. The Educator who booked the Virtual Discovery Visit will receive a PDF of a booklet that has activities related to the theme that they can print off for their students to work from.
How does the booking process work?
Teachers fill in the Request a Booking online form. This form is then reviewed and if the requested date and time is available a confirmation email will be sent along with the material lists and booklet PDF.
How are payments processed?
Educators must call Wonderhub’s Admission Desk prior to the date of their Virtual Visit to make a payment. Payments can be made over the phone using credit card.

The Fine Print
- Programs must be booked using the online registration form.
- Programs run for 1 hour
- Program time slots are available Tuesdays through Fridays 9:30-10:30 & 1:00-2:00
- Cost for a Discovery Visit is $75.00.
- Discovery Visits must be booked 10 days in advance of booking date.
- Fees can be paid with credit card by calling Nutrien Wonderhub directly at 306-249-3574.
- Cancellations less than 48 hours prior to the booking will be billed for 50% of the requested tickets. Cancellations less than 24 hours prior to the booking will be billed for 100% of the requested tickets.
