How do I rent a room at Wonderhub?

Complete and submit the Booking Request form. A team member will be in touch through the email on the form regarding your request.

What hours can I book a rental for? 

Due to staffing, rentals can only be accommodated between the hours of 9:00am and 10:30pm.

Can I book a rental after hours?

After Hours rentals are available but do depend on staff availability. Currently only 2HR or Half Day (up to 4 hours) rentals are available for After Hours bookings.

What is included in a Rental?

Rentals at Wonderhub include use of the rental room for your booking time, set up / take down of tables and chairs, free wifi, A/V support.

For larger rentals in the Performance Hall / Full Facility we off additional add ons:
– Wireless microphone(s) & podium (no additional charge)
– 1/2 Stage Rental – $125 plus tax
– Full Stage Rental – $250 plus tax
– Create Space Animation – $500 plus tax

Is Admission included in the rental rate?

With the exception of a full facility rental, rental fees exclude admission to the museum (an additional $9.50/person). General admission can be added to your rental and is payable upon arrival.

Are the room capacities negotiable?

No. The room capacities outline the maximum number of individuals (adults, children, infants) permitted in the room.  These capacities ensure fire safety compliance.

Is the seating capacity negotiable?

Depending on the room configuration required the seating capacity will change for the rooms. We provide a range of how many individuals can comfortably fit in each room.

Can we decorate the room for our rental?

You are welcome to bring decorations for your rental.  We ask that you use the painters tape provided to hang any decorations on the walls. If you will be using an outside vendor for décor please remember that your booking time includes set up and take down and that includes all outside vendors.  Helium Balloons and Pinatas are not permitted.

Am I able to get in early to set up my room?

We do not allow for early entry or late exit from the rooms.

Can we bring food to our rental?

Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted with your caterer of choice as we do not have onsite catering. In-room food storage and mini fridge (Pink/Green/Blue rooms only) can only be used during your room booking.  Wonderhub does not offer food storage prior to or after your rental.

Can we bring / serve alcohol?

Alcoholic beverages are permitted for after hours events provided that you have obtained the appropriate licensing from SLGA and adhere to their regulations.

On site security is required for all rentals serving alcohol. The renter will be responsible for covering this cost. Wonderhub will book and invoice the renter for these fees.

Rentals were alcohol is served will also be responsible for obtaining Event Insurance – see below.

Do I need Event Insurance?

If rentals meet one or more of the following parameters, renters may be required to have in effect and maintain during the rental, at its sole cost and expense, public liability and property insurance in the amount of two million dollars ($2,000,000). Not applicable to rentals for children’s birthday parties.
a) Guest attendance exceeds 75 persons
b) Third Party catering/equipment is being brought in by the Licensee
c) Liquor will be supplied to Guests

Can we bring in outside entertainment / photographer? 

Yes. You are welcome to bring in any additional entertainment / photographer that you would like.

How do we pay for the Rental?

A minimum 50% deposit must be made 30 days before your rental date to secure your booking.  The remaining balance must be paid 14 days in advance of your booking. Payments can be made over the phone, in person or we can issue an invoice which can be paid by cheque.

What is your cancellation policy?

Rentals cancelled less than 14 days prior to the scheduled date will be charged 50% of the rental fees.  Those cancelled 48 hours or less in advance will be charged 100% of the rental fees.

Are Waiver Forms Required for Rentals? 

Yes, all guests (children & adults), are required to sign a waiver form regardless of having signed at a previous visit.  Individuals without a signed waiver will not be allowed to enter the museum for your rental.

A copy of our waiver can be found on our website, and we will have copies on site.
